Knitting and being knit for
I figured out what to do about the Rodeo sweater. It now belongs to Carley, and it's all the better for it. It not only fits her better, she wears it better. While we were there in June, she paired it with cute shorts, for instance, something that would not work for me. Here she is with Sam during a break from once again triumphing at trivia. I'm so happy this worked out this way -- I love this sweater, but it turns out not to be mine.
Speaking of Carley, look what arrived in my mail a while ago:
They fit me! What a treat to have someone else knit me a pair of socks. (With apologies for taking a picture on my wrong-color-for-sock-modeling rug.)
Having another knitter in the family would be a treat, even without presents. But what a nice gift!
Looks like some great knitting karma at work! I am jealous of your socks -- I've received socks knit for me in a couple of swaps, but they didn't fit right and I never wore them. Yours look like a perfect fit!
ReplyDeleteYou didn't know at the time that you were knitting for someone else, but I'm glad the sweater found its real owner. And your socks are quite a treat! My grandmother always used to say that food tasted better when someone you loved made it for you, and I think the same applies to handknit socks. Wear them in health and happiness!
ReplyDeleteThe sweater is just perfect for/on Carley! How wonderful to be able to share your gifts with each other. (And somehow I missed your previous post with your Alabama Chanin MASTERPIECE! It is wonderful, Pam. XO
