New books on the way!
I'm making progress on my mittens, and Am Kamin, but I'm not sure how many times I want to show incremental progress.
In the meantime, and on another channel in my life, my Bookreporter.com newsletter came with some good news: good books on the way.
The books I'm looking forward to are:
Run, by Ann Patchett --
I loved Bel Canto, and think this will be another book to get lost in.
There's a new book by Richard Russo coming, called The Bridge of Sighs. It sounds more depressing than Empire Falls, but since I found that, in it's own way, hopeful, I'm hopeful, as well.
And, from Ann Packer, who wrote The Dive from Clausen's Pier a new book called Songs without Words.
Apparently, one of the consolations of autumn will be some new books!
