Harry Potter, of course
This sweater, tossed in the laundry basket after the midnight showing of Deathly Hallows Part 1, reminded me that there's a little unblogged knitting around here.
Back in September, my daughter's high school had a Harry Potter day as part of one of their spirit weeks. "Mom, could you make me a Harry Potter sweater?"
Well, no, not by Wednesday, I couldn't. But, I could make a nice Molly Weasley-ish "H" to tack onto a store bought one. (This one is from the GAP.) And I did -- out of better than it needs to be Hebridian Yarn from Virtual Yarns (Corncrake, I think), leftover from a long-ago knit Grant Avenue. It's been on and off the sweater once already - the only drawback to using such yummy yarn is that it isn't quite as washable as the sweater is. The first time it was worn, the H was very carefully sewn on -- this last time, for the midnight showing of the movie, not.
Here she is -- off to school, a nerdish Hogwarts student.
And no, I didn't attend the midnight showing, but I saw the movie last night and enjoyed it very much. Can't wait for the rest of it!
what an awesome costume!! Absolutely love it.
